A passion for pilgrimage.

Fr. David Houk first traveled to Jerusalem, Greece, and Italy in 1990 for a summer course during his undergraduate studies at Wheaton College.

Following graduation, he volunteered at a guest house on Mount Carmel and at the Bethlehem Bible College in the West Bank, affording him a sixth month stay in Palestine and Israel.

After ordination as an Episcopal priest, Fr. David began leading pilgrimages in 2009. His love for the land of the Bible, his appreciation of Middle Eastern culture, and his working knowledge of Arabic make him a popular tour leader for the pilgrims he leads as well as the locals he encounters on his travels.

Besides leading his own trips, Fr. David enjoys planning and facilitating trips for other churches and leaders, whether lay or ordained. He says, “Traveling to the Holy Land takes the Bible from a black and white text and turns it into a full color, 3D experience.”

Since 2006, Fr. David has been the rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dallas, Texas.
